Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Breathly ("we," "us," "our") handles information in two related offerings: the Breathly mobile app (iOS and Android) and the https://www.onlinebreathingtool.com website (breathing tools, blog, embeds, and contact). The app and website collect and store data differently—most app activity stays on your device; the website may use cookies, analytics, and advertising as described below. This policy works together with our Terms of Service and Cookie Policy.
1. Scope
- Mobile app: Breathly — guided breathing, optional Premium via app stores. The app does not show Google AdSense or other website advertising.
- Website: https://www.onlinebreathingtool.com — free breathing tools, articles, embeds, and contact. Advertising (where enabled) and analytics apply to the website only, not the native app.
The Service does not currently require or provide Breathly user accounts. There is no Breathly login or server-side profile that stores your session history; that data is kept on your device unless you contact us or use store billing as described below.
2. Mobile app — what stays on your device
Most information the app uses is stored locally on your device (for example, in on-device storage). We do not upload your breathing history, streaks, weekly minutes, favorites, custom patterns, mood check-ins, or similar wellness data to our servers for analytics or advertising. This includes session counts and statistics you see in the app.
Locally stored app data can include:
- Preferences (appearance, default visuals, scenes, ambient sounds)
- Reminders and daily motivation text and schedules you configure
- Favorites, custom breathing patterns, challenges progress, and recent sessions
- Onboarding completion and Premium entitlement state used to unlock features on that device
You can remove this data by deleting the app or clearing the app's storage in your device settings. Because we do not host app accounts, there is no separate "account deletion" step on our servers for app-only use.
3. Information we may collect or receive
3.1 When you contact us (website or email)
If you use the website contact form or email support@onlinebreathingtool.com, we receive your name, email address, and message so we can respond. We use this only for support and related communication.
3.2 App — device, notifications, and stores
- Notifications: If you enable reminders or motivation alerts, the app uses your device's notification permission and platform notification services (Apple/Google) to deliver schedules you set. We do not use notifications for third-party advertising in the app.
- App stores: Installs, updates, and in-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their privacy policies. We do not operate third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the native app as of the last updated date above.
- Premium: Subscriptions are offered through Apple and Google. Prices vary by country, currency, and applicable taxes and are shown at checkout in the store—not in this policy. Payment is processed by the store. To unlock Premium, we may receive only what the store provides for validation—such as subscription status, product identifiers, and renewal or receipt information. We do not receive your full payment card number.
3.3 Website — logs, hosting, and analytics
When you visit https://www.onlinebreathingtool.com, we or our hosting provider may process:
- Server logs (IP address, request time, pages requested, referrer, browser type)
- Approximate location derived from IP (e.g., country or region), used for security and aggregated understanding of traffic
When you accept cookies on the website (see Cookie Policy), we load Google Analytics (measurement ID configured for this site) to understand how visitors use pages in aggregate. We do not use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or similar mobile analytics services in the Breathly app.
3.4 Website — advertising
When you accept cookies on the website, we may load Google AdSense to display ads. Ad partners may use cookies or similar technologies for ad delivery and measurement. The mobile app does not include AdSense or comparable in-app ad networks.
3.5 Cookies and local storage
See our Cookie Policy for cookie categories, consent, and opt-out links. The app uses on-device storage for features, not browser cookies.
4. How we use information
- Operate the app and website, including Premium validation through app stores
- Deliver notifications and features you configure in the app (processed on-device and via platform services)
- Respond to support and contact requests
- Improve the website using aggregated analytics when you have accepted cookies
- Show and measure ads on the website where enabled
- Protect the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with law
Legal bases (EEA/UK): contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (security, non-essential analytics and ads where permitted), consent (non-essential cookies on the website where required), and legal obligation.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. However, website advertising and analytics partners may process information in ways that may constitute "sharing" or targeted advertising under certain privacy laws. You can limit some of this via browser settings, our Cookie Policy, and Google's ad controls linked there.
We may share information with:
- Apple and Google for purchases, subscription status, and restore flows
- Website service providers: hosting, Google Analytics and Google AdSense (after cookie consent), email delivery for contact form messages
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety
- Successors in a merger or acquisition, with notice where required
We do not share your on-device app wellness history with advertisers.
6. International transfers
Website and support data may be processed in countries other than yours (including the United States and India). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for transfers from the EEA/UK.
7. Retention
- App (on-device): until you delete the app or clear app data
- Contact/support: as long as needed to handle your request and for reasonable record-keeping
- Website analytics/ads: per provider retention settings, often in aggregated form
8. Security
We use measures appropriate to the risk (encryption in transit where supported, access controls, reputable hosting). No system is perfectly secure; please keep your device and Apple/Google account credentials secure.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information we hold about you, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
- App data: delete locally as described in Section 2; email us if you previously contacted support and want those messages deleted
- Website cookies: browser settings and our Cookie Policy; Google Analytics and Google AdSense load only after you accept cookies on the site
- California opt-out of sharing: contact support@onlinebreathingtool.com with subject "California privacy request" or use the Google ad personalization links in our Cookie Policy
EEA/UK users may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We may verify your identity before fulfilling requests.
10. Children's privacy
Breathly is a wellness and breathwork app intended for teens and adults who want guided breathing, focus, and sleep support. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires a higher age for online consent). If you believe a child provided us information (for example, via the contact form), contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. California notice (CCPA/CPRA summary)
In the last 12 months we may collect identifiers (email if you contact us), internet activity (website visits via logs and, if you consent, Google Analytics), and commercial information (Premium subscription status from app stores). We use this to operate the Service, support users, and for website analytics and advertising as described. We do not sell personal information; website ad/analytics partners may process data in ways that qualify as sharing under California law. You may request access, deletion, and correction, and opt out of certain sharing—contact support@onlinebreathingtool.com.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post changes here and update the date above. Material changes may be noted in the app or on the website where appropriate.
